1. A classic case of over-hyping the job - the hiring manager made it appear as if if I was coming to join the Avengers like she handpicked the current staff based on the different skills they put to use at work but the truth is that they didn't need your skill, just sell. 2. The HM never mentioned cleaning the store was a JD during the interview (i.e vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, wiping). We never had to do that at an even smaller brand in the same mall where I worked, so I'm pretty sure it's not the norm. It's okay to close i.e arrange the products, but cleaning is a completely different job, and they don't tell you. You discover that the first time you have a closing shift. 3. The manager was subtly pitting employees against one another, telling some that if they increased their sales, they would be promoted to full-time. HM's been telling them that since before I joined, and none of them have been promoted since I left. As a result, these employees became overly competitive, even competing for sales or customers right in front of customers (an employee did this to me barely three weeks after I arrived...so I know). 4. The back of house at Coach's flagship store (as the Manager called it during the interview) is very narrow and extremely tight. Nobody should be made to work there. It's basically a sardine can...
