Pros

Super Friendly Management. They let you do your job and support employees. They foster a fun work environment and really believe in the well being and happiness of the employees. Decent Salary and Benefits. The company wants to do their very best for clients, which is a nice goal to have every day. Fun coworkers, seriously some of the best I have had.

Cons

Have to keep up with a lot of changes constantly going on. This is a good sized company so there are many programs and details to learn and adapt to. Not really a Con, just a challenge with the amount of time you have sometimes.

We will keep up the great work. Thanks for the encouragement. You joined us as we are in the last stages of right sizing our systems and tools for our current size/breadth. Certainly some growing pains, but we are almost through it. We have one more big adjustment as we implement a new project management and accounting system. Hang in there. Smoother sailing in the near future. Appreciate you. Dave Ruff - CEO/President

Pros

Great people, great benefits, great atmosphere. Provides you the necessary tools to do your job successfully! My manager is the best manager I have ever worked for.

Cons

I have been with Coffman for over 60 days and as a new hire I absolutely have no complaints. They provided me the necessary training I needed to get started and the culture and people have made me feel welcome from the start.

Pros

-Diversity in projects & clients -Every expanding offering of services and disciplines, so lots of opportunities for change, growth, and advancement -Flexible schedule -Friendly laid back atmosphere for most cases* -End of year bonuses -Great 401K options, with match and vesting immediately -Health care plan is decent even as an HSA, but they offer a generous match each year, so it's not too unreasonable to hit your federal maximums -They always make it a point to have a team building activity or function for employees and they are very generous here -Avoids corporate traditional business feel, but gets down to business when needed* -Each department has a principal-owner and all employees report to that manager, so no middle management at the office level, thankfully each one also has an open door policy and are very approachable* -Ability to travel and learn from other offices or work on projects in other offices*

Cons

-With any company there will be some abrasive personalities to your own *Each office and each department operate very differently than one another, so if one interfaces with different departments/offices you'll notice some discontinuity (which arguably is a pro and a con depending on the working environment you prefer) this also can be challenging when work-sharing *Because of the management structure it relies heavily on cooperation/coordination between departments/offices rather than formal policy (this again can be a pro or a con because it allows for flexibility, but may not be efficient) *There's a bit of smoke and mirrors when it comes to decision making when it comes to salary/compensation/promotion/project assignments. Each department does this differently and because the only metric they have is utilization, they rely on regular check-ins using the open door policy (which is a pro), but the con is this is subjective

It is always encouraging to get a balanced review from a long term employee. You have identified many of the tensions that any organization faces. To live in the balance can be a little trying, but to let one of those tensions win outright is to lose your balance and shift who you are, usually with unintended consequences. One of those tensions is between office autonomy as opposed to rigid structure and policy. Rigid policy is needed in many cases, but should be avoided whenever possible, as office autonomy creates nimbleness and provides for the most creative solutions for our clients. So living in this particular tension is the best service to our clients, which keeps us on mission. As far as some of the smoke and mirrors that you described, I will continue to work on the transparency of our decision making, especially at the general manager level. We can do better. Thanks for your feedback. Dave Ruff - CEO/President.
