      Use Cognex as a stepping stone, or stay away

      Pros

      The only reason this review has any stars at all is that the company is still financially healthy.

      Cons

      Highly demanding roles, particularly in the logistics/retail distribution division, yet not nearly enough pay. Company made highly questionable layoffs during 2020 uncertainty that still haunt it. Hiring standards way lower than they used to be; senior management disconnected from people on the ground. Trickle-down effect from mistakes has been slowly building up. Stay away if you enjoy your work being valued properly.

      Nice people in company (employee level), free VHI, 20 days annual leave, free parking, free on-site lunches every quarter

      Cons

      Untrained managers, managers who are in the company too long and can only do their job one way, 'the Cognex way' , extremally toxic work environment, a lot of blame game on other teams. Underpaid for the work you do with small payrises each year.
