Way too many managers, yet no accountability

Pros

They have an unlimited PTO policy. There are no limitations put on working from home.

Cons

-The Boston office is incredibly disorganized and dysfunctional. Apparently they go through a re-org about once a year, or every 2 years at most. A prior CTO, who has since been fired, made the decree that the organization should be Agile, but in Boston it's almost as if the Management read a book on how to implement Agile and then did the opposite. The company took current employees and just told them that their job had suddenly changed. This means you have people in roles that they are not qualified for, and they don't even want to be in the role in the first place. -The place is swimming in Managers. There are way too many Managers for the number of employees in the office. Most of them have no prior Management experience and it really shows. There is a complete inability to deal with any sort of conflict. If you have an issue with an employee who doesn't do their work, doesn't come to required meetings etc. you basically have no avenue to get that resolved because the person's Manager will be too scared to say anything negative to their direct report. -The healthcare insurance offered through TriZetto, a healthcare IT company, is abysmal. It is the worst health insurance i have ever had and I was embarrassed every time I was at a doctor visit and had to present my health insurance card. -The lack of accountability is laughable. People blatantly ignore deadlines, don't show up for important meetings, and ignore all processes, but they face no consequences for these behaviors. The Managers are not interested in dealing with conflict but in keeping the status quo.

Pros

will quickly hire you to make their affirmative action numbers if you are a citizen.

Cons

Once you are hired they will make your life miserable until you quit so they can fill the position with a hire from India coming on a visa. Cognizant HR department is full of egotistical people who could care less how you adapt to a culture of ALL Indian people. I've made complaints to HR countless times and they could care less and basically told me I'm not a good fit for the company because I cannot adapt to working India hours. Sorry I have a family and shouldn't have to work 24/7 to keep my job!!!!

Pros

Individual talent is extraordinary at the worker level, especially among the Indians who were educated in America and/or had extensive work experience in the U.S.

Cons

The most hostile work environment of my career. True to the Offshore Business Model, it is Indian management style replicated in the U.S. They get away with murder because Americans who can't/don't enter the inner sanctum of Indian management are blind to its abuses. Indian managers harass, overwork, underpay, belittle, bully, and antagonize 'lower level' Indian workers because a culture of cruelty is normal to them. Any complaints about work or money and their immigration status is threatened, forcing a hasty, expensive return to India. Indians treated the worst are the "travel-ready" ones who are newly in-country. They tend to be really young, ambitious, and inexperienced. Other Indians can't protect them from their managers. Most Indians in Technology tend to be from southern India, and are Tamils. Indians who aren't from Tamil Nadu are treated badly. Treatment is much worse for Muslims, Pakistanis, and Bengalis.
