Pros

6 months ago, there were lots of pros (culture, leadership support, transparent communications), but now the only remaining positive is the people who remain (for now).

Cons

Lack of leadership, trust, and communication; Former culture/sense of community eliminated (Chief Culture Officer and VP of Diversity and Inclusion both subject to RIF); Parent company transfers are being pushed into CS (aka Workday practice) leadership consulting positions without any prior Workday experience; Cognizant appears to be planning to replace us with as many offshore resources as possible

Pros

COGNIZANT USA is a good company but was created to provide jobs for INDIANS not AMERICANS, the majority in the company are Indians, company is a hub to import Indian labor to US, not fair for sure, so if you are a original American not Indian forget about Cognizant they will not hire you, also if they hire you, you will not last for long, job security for Americans is pretty low at Cognizant, they have a deployment pool for projects but if after a month you don`t find a project they will let you go.

Cons

Already explained in the PROS, USA department of labor needs to regulate more the gap for Indian positions, so far in USA they are too many, and also with very poor degree from India not comparable to USA universities.

Pros

Softvision was known for it's stand out and innovative software product engineering. Folks were scrappy and inspired, the work was interesting, and the people were engaged. It felt like the company you wanted to be at forever. Managers cared, sales and delivery managers managed client expectations, and teams bonded over problem solving.

Cons

Then the merger with Cognizant began creeping into the day-to-day activities. Work became more cookie cutter and run-of-the-mill. Sales teams sold staff augmentation and promised unrealistic deliverables, then bullied and pushed the teams to meet them. Managers disappeared because they became powerless to help, teams were grinding to the bone and didn't have time to connect with other team members. Reviews, promotions, and merit increases were frozen - and a LOT of really good people left.
