Pros

Compensation not bad. Bonuses are good, but unreliable and not directly related to your own contribution. Some really great people among the mass of junior workers and Indian-descent men who have been promoted way beyond their ability.

Cons

I was hired as an AVP to develop a business. Budget cut immediately. Wanted tier-1 thinking and leadership, but with no investment. Ended up reporting to a young man in India who literally pulled all of my team away from me without telling me (or them). I was told on my exit that 70% of non-Indian descent people are gone within 12-months. Confirmed that my SVP had cut ALL the white people from his organization. Not worth the law suit. I found another senior job (outside the company) within a couple of weeks. If you think you are going to have a senior role in this company, think again. There are many many examples of people who've been told one thing and then faced another reality. They want tier-1 people to take their ideas, and then cut them. Finally, I was "released" with 2-days notice. Yes, really... they fired an AVP with 2-days notice.

Pros

There are no pros when working here.

Cons

I worked originally for Levementum, which was acquired by Cognizant. After 2 years, the entire culture of Lev was stripped away and replaced by Cognizant. I was an individual contributor, but well ranked in my position being a senior, a leader on multiple accounts, and a mentor to my team. I saw the environment crumble from the stress and demands of Cog. The hours we were expected to work was astronomically high compared to all consultancies that we competed against, the clients that we had deals with had no protection for myself and teammates - things were underscroped, over promised, and incorrectly sold. This provided a difficult experience for clients - they had expectations for what work they were sold, but the moment work began, it was not aligned with anyone's expectations. All managers were throwing in the towel. No one could fight anymore to protect people, and when people leave, we had no say in how to interview for actual talent. People being hired had no skills that they promised in interviews, and Cognizant refused to allow exercises to ensure we were hiring correctly. There was no onboarding either, so many times I'd assist new hires who were supposed to be technically more advanced that I on accounts when they should have know already what to do, or would have gotten up to speed during an onboarding.

Pros

Working conditions are good, people are wonderful, work is flexible.

Cons

Don't expect a raise or a fair evaluation. Even if you did a fantastic job, if others did too then they 'rate on normalization or the curve' and only so many are permitted to get an excellent review. This is very harmful as two years in a row my supervisor rated me at an EA rating but I got bumped each time to a EM rating and then do not receive my full bonus. This is extremely out of date in rewarding associates for their hard work. We have lost so many in our workplace because of this reason. They went elsewhere after many years and seeing no reward.
