Happy with my move to Cogstate

Pros

Incredible work-life balance, solid benefits, great camaraderie within and across departments, work from home options, competitive salary, and strong leadership/executive management. The company is dedicated to making brain health easier to measure and is small enough where you can make a difference.

Cons

May be too fast paced for some.

Pros

The main office is located in downtown New Haven, near some great restaurants and cafes Some talented staff put up with a lot

Cons

Just about everything else and it get worse by the day. Cogstate is toxic environment lead by a person that seems lost at best. For a small company it’s highly polarized. The health insurance they provide is very expensive and not very good. You have to pay for parking which gets expensive Low pay when compared against the market

Pay scale very low

Pros

Good cultural commission which happy hour comes early at 3pm on Fridays. Free coffee and snacks.

Cons

Employees who do all work do not get bonuses. Nobody works 37.5 hours a week, more like 50-55 hours a week with no overtime pay. It is required to be available after hours at night to work with counterparts in Australia. Seems there are no salary increases unless you change your job title. Management is only concerned about bottom line and not the growth or future of employees.
