Pros

Not many... ping pong table in break room, manageable busy season and hours.

Cons

The company is struggling and making horrible executive decisions. Partners and managers are snakes, watch your back. Everyone must come to the office every Saturday during busy season.... or else. Judgment upon leaving at any time before 6 pm, regardless of what time you start your day.

Pros

Above average PTO. Meals provided in tax season. Nice new office spaces. Strong specialty groups with good resources and expertise. SALT, International, national tax, etc have strong expertise. Firm is full of genuinely nice people.

Cons

Trending towards large firm culture without the added benefits. Working more hours gets you ahead. Firm lack direction. Extremely limited industry groups. Most industries the firm concentrates on will leave you stuck in public accounting for the rest of your career.

Pros

-most of the CPAs and support employees are nice-enough people -paychecks don't bounce -decent health insurance benefit -good place to get a few years accounting experience, especially if you end up on one of the "in" teams

Cons

-firm's stated #1 goal is profitable growth, with employee satisfaction and customer service clearly secondary -"binge working" not just limited to busy season; sometimes understaffing seems deliberate -many long-time employees seem disengaged, including some partners who would be in position to demand improvements -some bullies, creeps and otherwise toxic personalities are not just tolerated but occupy leadership positions here and there -wide disparities in capabilities from office to office, maybe due to sub-par integration of mergers and acquisitions -on the support side, repeated failures at some basic blocking and tackling somehow don't get fixed over time
