You know you're in trouble when you go to managers for questions and they respond with, "I don't know, I haven't done that in four years, give it your best shot." Once you then give it your best shot, you are given a bad review because the manager's at the firm expect you to have knowledge that they don't. The culture is more that of a grade school, with constant favoritism and gossip. People work in a constant state of anxiety due to the poor process of dumping associates right after busy season without any prior warning or notice. No formal training on the audit software that is used, you are instead frowned upon when questions arise regarding matters you have never handled before. Managers constantly work from home, and ignore phone calls or emails regarding questions staff or seniors may have, and then in turn return to work to chastise you for not having work complete.
