Pros

They paid great salary and benefits

Cons

Worried about building a professional career here because I am concerned about my reputation having associated with them. Some sector leaders really have a hard time filling key positions and are quick to fire good people. The level of specialized knowledge in some areas was severely lacking and concerning.

Pros

Flexibility schedule. Can choose to come in late and stay late or come in early and leave early as long as you get the work done. Or work from home if needed. Friendly working environment. Managers and partners do care if you actually learn stuff.

Cons

Make sure you negotiate your salary when you get in because otherwise you will find yourself way much underpaid...

Pros

get to leave at noon on Fridays during busy season

Cons

You know you're in trouble when you go to managers for questions and they respond with, "I don't know, I haven't done that in four years, give it your best shot." Once you then give it your best shot, you are given a bad review because the manager's at the firm expect you to have knowledge that they don't. The culture is more that of a grade school, with constant favoritism and gossip. People work in a constant state of anxiety due to the poor process of dumping associates right after busy season without any prior warning or notice. No formal training on the audit software that is used, you are instead frowned upon when questions arise regarding matters you have never handled before. Managers constantly work from home, and ignore phone calls or emails regarding questions staff or seniors may have, and then in turn return to work to chastise you for not having work complete. If you enjoy working with HUD transactions and Affordable Housing and not much else to add to your resume, you are in luck! They don't even match 401k...
