Pros

Worked for Key Communities and the management and environment is great. Supervisors want you to succeed and are happy to help with any problems you run into.

Cons

A little stressful depending on your assigned cohort of students.

Pros

- Some really cool people, especially in the Help Center and Research

Cons

- Management lacks tech competency and didn't even know the difference between compiled and interpreted languages (thought that Java and JavaScript are the same, revealing that they have no computer science background) - Lack of EQ in leadership and some co-workers - No version control (just share drive) - No CI/CD - Ancient tech practices (such as scripts with win32 usage that shouldn't be there but "it works" so nothing is really addressed) - Usage of sticky notes instead of a ticketing system in order to keep work offline and violate SLA with Help Center without consequences - Sticky notes also serve as job protectionism, employees fail "the bus test" by deliberately not documenting things - No project management to speak of, it seems like the process is to just grumble and drag feet - Poor change control (was ordered to push changes in the middle of the day with zero mitigation that broke user devices) - Food bullying, overly negative and critical co-workers - Racism tolerated as "that's just their opinion" - Zero onboarding or structured training; it's clear that management only knows the things they have been exposed to on the job and actively avoid learning new things - No real career prospects beyond patching computers for the rest of your life. You will learn nothing of use here - Bad health insurance with high copays
