Great ideas, but not sustainable at the more productive locations.

Pros

Great culture and involvement. Fun work locations. Constant games and contests to keep things fun. Good incentive packages if you work in a productive store.

Cons

Constant, poorly communicated changes in policies. Inconsistent training. The busy stores do not have the resources or staff to sustain themselves.

Umpqua promotes a healthy home/work balance. Volunteering is a part of culture. Great benefits, great atmosphere, open communication.

Cons

Training and technology requires additional advancement. Office politics is creeping in under the radar. Transparency is not always available.

Pros

There are some really great people at Umpaqua, and I enjoyed the relationships I formed there. The associates are great, the work environment lovely, and the community relations program was fun to be a part of!

Cons

Corporate is the same as it is at the other big banks, just in slightly different packaging. Despite the "forward-thinking" vibe they are so careful to cultivate in their marketing, the leadership can be stodgy and old-fashioned. As conservative a bank as I've ever experienced.
