Pros

Fast growing company in a busy industry. They strive to be the best distributor.

Cons

They treat their employees like utter crap and underpay them at any chance they can get. They find excuses to cut chunks of your monthly incentive. I was a faithful dedicated employee for 7 years. I drug my personal life through the gutters to do what was demanded of me by the company. And in the end, I was fired because I asked for help and voiced myself within the company. My sales route had grown so large, that I was doing the volume of 2-3 other routes combined. When the workload became too much, I started to fall behind. I expressed the issues to my managers only to be ignored and flat out told "deal with it". When my manager finally rode along with me, and saw everything that I had been telling them for months, he suspended me the next day, and I got fired a week later.

Pros

Move around a lot not in the same place to long...

Cons

Over worked.. 10 hours day or more. To much work load for the staff we have and to get the work done and make it look good. one minute we are forced to work overtime the next minute we are told to cut hours but do the same work that we did with loads of overtime... Crappy fellow employees that need to be fired... Lower pay than all other merchandiser!

Pros

Active job, usually working by yourself.

Cons

There are the common downsides with being a merchandiser - sometimes you come in to work and find out that your usual 8 hour day has been bumped up to a 10 or 12 hour day. But this company has been running itself into the ground ever since the merger. Expect 8 hours minimum, and almost never any weekends. If you're lucky your weekend will be on-call. There is almost no room for advancement - I have met some other merchandisers who have been doing the same job for 10 or more years. Once upon a time the company was more casual, but lately things have been getting increasingly uptight to the point where people are getting written up for very minor things that could've been solved with an extra 5 minutes of work. It seems that the higher ups are starting to think Merchandisers are disposable - not realizing we're the ones out there making their product look good.
