Pros

It is a conscientious employer. It does try to do the right thing in handling of employees and obey all of the laws.

Cons

It is not as flexible and creative as I would like it to be, more corporate feel.

Pros

Columbia is one of the top universities in terms of research. It has good faculty, good benefits, and a less stressful working environment.

Cons

It is not clear how to move up the management path. There is little inter-department interactions. Commute is long. Salary is less than the industry.

Pros

Learning an abundance of information pertaining to tech, telecom, and media industries. Teamwork. Being amongst a large group of high-level scholars (pretty much everyone who interns there is from Harvard, Yale, Cornell, UChicago, NYU, etc.) Free trips and lectures. Just a good internship experience.

Cons

Low pay, if any. (interns do not get paid at all, completely voluntary). Sometimes you get really irritating work to do. Other than that, not many cons.
