Pros

The benefits are great! Meeting and working with world-class leaders and change makers. The feeling of working for a prestigious higher education university.

Cons

Outdated leadership. Management does not consider the opinions or recommendations made by the up-and-coming workforce. The university is still very paper-driven in processing paperwork, and they can do more regarding bonuses. The decentralized work environment can be a bit difficult to manage, as departments across the university tend to do administrative procedures and tasks differently. This also includes performance management.

Pros

The single pro of working at CU is the unlimited sick days and PTO available to you

Cons

The director of Residential Construction is a terrible manager. He does not have a real understanding of construction yet will not rely on architects, engineers, or contractors. If you have a personal emergency, he will not be understanding and will require documentation as proof of emergency. There is no option to work remote or be hybrid, only executive leadership is authorized to. Construction has had a 90% turnover rate in the past 3 years. Morale amongst the team was at its lowest and several team members had been reduced to tears because of interactions with the director. The director has proven repeatedly to never take responsibility for anything yet he will blame APM/PM at the first opportunity for any mistakes.
