The Energy Industry is Good On A Resume

Cons

There is a Management Act at ComEd, to each other and in front of people its all Bright and Shiny, but if you are working for them, prepare for some harsh times. Lots of PR about Work Life Balance and Career Development, but is all just fluff

Pros

ComEd is a big company with a lot of opportunity. In my time there I was able to involve myself in a wide variety of high-profile projects even as an entry-level employee. Benefits were pretty good when I started but in talking to the people that have been hired after me it sounds like those benefits have been reduced.

Cons

The department that I was in had very little respect for work-life balance (emergency support not included) and was run by some old-fashioned leaders who were more interested in measuring the time on your timesheet than the actual tangible work you got done.
