Pros

I've been able to learn more about other aspects of my profession that I would not necessarily get elsewahere. We have a good group of people in my department. Location is great.

Cons

Punching in/out should be eliminated especially for salaried employees since it creates a feeling of mistrust. Starting salary should be higher for those in my department.

No support from HR and unpleasant work environment overall. The Director I was under was not knowledgable, unprofessional, spoke negatively about my co-workers, and basically surfed the internet all day while demanding we work harder and faster. No appreciation for excellent work, only focus was to say we weren't good enough. General leadership style is do as I say, not as I do. At that level management feels indestructible and they are allowed to behave in any manner they want to with NO consequences or questions to answer. Sad part is, the Director has no idea how to do what we do. It's insulting really.

Co-workers are supportive and help to make it a tolerable environment. Bagels and fruit on Fridays.

Cons

Leadership is not knowledgeable, do not present themselves in a professional manner and are not respectful to those underneath them. Human Resources is also not supportive. Several employees have attempted to outreach for support, and it gets brushed under the rug. Disappointing.
