Pros

- Location - work overtime if you like - nice people- however you are discouraged from leaving your depressing cube to interact with others

Cons

- OVER WORKED . UNDER PAID starting salary is the same as it was 10 years go, guess they haven't heard of inflation - Can get denied time off requests and 3 sick days a year - Guidance consultant really means customer service rep - really no MA required - 0- no place for professional growth and development or for career advancement - high burn out and turn over - and yes you can work overtime, which is good, because a lot of those grad students making loan payments have a hard enough time making ends meet i could go on and on

A Disgrace to Counseling

Pros

From a counselor's perspective: -interaction with wide variety of clients through call center model -ability to gain masters level licensure -fellow staff members are top-notch clinicians -superb location -friendly building staff

Cons

The company demonstrates all levels of organizational dysfunction: -management monitors staff during daytime and leaves unlicensed, new hires unsupervised at night with little/no instruction as to how to handle crisis calls -low quality training for wide range of job procedures, yet high expectations for staff members; no feedback model except criticism -company withholds office supplies from staff or gives them recycled office supplies with former clients' personal information listed on file folders -the shabbiest of shabby and most depressing work conditions: floors are dingy, no investment in gray office interior, refrigerators have rotting food items in them, frequently no toilet paper/paper towels in restroom facilities -employees' shifts are changed without prior notice -management barks commands for employees to compromise client assistance for the sake of having high #s All work environments unfortunately have elements of dysfunction and mistreatment of employees. The CEO of ComPsych is a psychologist and should be stripped of his credential for running a company that demonstrates such disrespect and ill treatment of its employees. As ComPsych is the largest EAP and therefore has the potential to impact the largest amount of people around the globe, providing paper towels should for its employees should be a given. Perhaps a "good job Bob" every once in awhile would probably also keep ComPsych employees from becoming some of the most unhappy employees in the industry.
