Pros

Great Initial Training program. Tremendous income opportunity for the right individual in the right territory.

Cons

The job is a grind. You are expected to put in a lot of hours and make a lot of cold calls. The company's reputation, especially for paying claims, is not very good. This is often a stumbling block. Service to customers is not good due to the high agent turnover.

Pros

Their products are fairly competitive and I still own some myself.

Cons

Combined, at least where I worked, still believed that you could get more production out of an agent by carrying a big stick and threatening them with it. Really, there is no cohesive training program. Although they do send you to their home office in Chicago for a week of training, all they teach you is one approach to go door to door with. Very hard to motivate and retain the agents.

Pros

They will hire anyone as long as you are willing to get an insurance license. They do offer training however it is not paid unless you are hired on as a Territory Manager

Cons

Unethical Management, the executive management team live high off the hog while the people that are out making the company money live off of nothing. If you are let go by the company they will pay you all your commissions/bonuses due you however if you decide on your own that you do not feel as if this is a good fit and give a two weeks notice you forfeit your right to any pay due you (get fired get paid / resign and lose your pay - make sense to anyone?)
