Pros

Lots of different types of software development opportunities to get involved with. There are many career paths you can take a Comcast. Nice benefits. Nice work/life balance. Virtual worker opportunities.

Cons

Typical overhead of working in a large company.

Comcast may be large in size, but we make it a priority to provide a culture that feels like a small community of supportive teammates. While it may be challenging to navigate at certain times, we believe communication is key so that we can harness the talent of each team member through collaboration, honesty, openness, and respect. We appreciate your feedback.

Pros

free cable, flexible schedule, good salary

Cons

Lousy corporate culture on so many levels. -The Directors "manage up". So many times a VP will give warm and fuzzy family first, "thank you for all you do, we are who we are because of our employees", "automation, automation, automation" speeches. Then the Directors only focus on development by back-stabbing cohorts, that makes them look good to their VPs even if that development will cause more manual labor. So anti-automation is the final result. -DE&I is a joke. I have witnessed several instances of employees being promoted to astonishing positions in the company without merit. During on boarding and thru-out early months on my tenure, the exalted importance of various positions in the company was repeatedly drubbed into me, yet once DE&I became a thing multiple examples of "non-white males" were promoted quite high in the organization, WITHOUT PEER MERIT and at the cost of other well deserving employees. They simply rubbed their noses in just the right place and fit the right profile. -eNPS surveys are not anonymous. On 3 separate instances, each with different managers, I made critical comments of managers only to have those managers challenge me with the very specific language that I used on those "anonymous" surveys. -After separation all my ESPP stock was taken away. all of it, gone. Over the years I thought I was investing in a tech company that appreciated it's employees that rewards them by allowing them to invest in their own future even more than what the company bestows. Nope. Because I chose voluntary separation, all my ESPP has been rescinded.
