Decent mgmt. Pay on par. Def better staffed than some other systems in town. Some of the little things do make me feel valued.

Cons

401k match is not great or competitive with some health systems in town. My spouse worked for Amazon. Best health plan EVER. They went to a startup and UNFORTUNATELY we had to go on Common Spirits “best” plan which sucks, or a there’s Common Spirit network plan which potentially compromises your care but is less out of pocket. We work in healthcare, we know! If we or someone we love gets something serious or chronic or rare, I want to see the best doc in the country at like Sloan, Mayo, Cleveland, Fred Hutch, OHSU, Cedars, top Children’s for kiddo, etc…. We have good docs but there aren’t a lot of thought leaders on the cutting edge in our system.

Great boss and co-workers. Surgeons are actually quite nice and helpful. Same for the APP’s. Building my decision making and triage skills here. Now interested in case management. Also, I love the work-life balance. I get to actually see my kids and be present without being exhausted, irritable, having a headache, etc. I don’t have to miss out on conferences, sports games, or family gatherings anymore. Less stressful overall.

Cons

Pay is based on years of experience, non-negotiable. No opportunity for over-time to earn more pay.
