      Dog eat dog culture

      They offer interesting benefits but...

      Cons

      Benefits are difficult to use (such as vacation). There's no time to rest. Rush rush rush. My leadership wouldn't allow me to enjoy my multiple vacation attempts because of emergencies that really weren't critical, but political. Weekend --GONE. Family life -- GONE. The politics are incredibly vicious. The culture is consistently dog-eat-dog from top to bottom, no team work.. It's my opinion this ultimately affects health care delivery. I'm only still at this job until I find another place to land.

      Pros

      I am no longer employed there.

      Cons

      Lack of communication. Being set up to fail. Favoritism. I was terminated while on Workers Compensation leave, after 12 years of service. I did not receive as much as a phone call, checking on my progress, after 5 surgeries. Whom ever packed my belongings, included patient EOB's, patient account information, and a partial list of employees containing their DOB and SS#'s.

      Pros

      Despite the rampant dissatisfaction across all departments at Vista, the employees are good people who care about their community for the most part.

      Cons

      Upper Management should recognize the high turnover as a direct reflection of leadership FAILURE at Vista. Toxic managers employing psycological warfare in order to intimidate and manipulate employees. Very stressful and unnecessary mistreatment throughout the hospital. High patient complaint and dissatisfaction.
