Pros

Amazing work-life balance: The amount of time off is truly unmatched and incredibly supportive for employees. It's honestly the most time off I have ever received at any company. Before I found Community Mental Health, I worked places that offered little to no paid time off, it was such an adjustment coming to a place that actually gave you quite a bit of time off. When I first started I was pregnant, by the time I went on maternity leave I had enough PTO to almost cover my entire leave paid. To know I have enough time off to not worry about leaving to get my kid if he is sick is so incredible. Outstanding benefits: From generous PTO to a rare pension plan and longevity bonuses, the benefits package is unlike anything I've experienced elsewhere as well. The organization genuinely understands the importance of work-life balance. Supportive and positive work environment: I've worked with some of the most amazing people in every department I've been part of. When I first started, I had offers coming in, one even from the State of Michigan, but I turned them down mainly because of the really wonderful work environment. I have worked places before where the work environment was really toxic, so to find a place that I looked forward to seeing my coworkers was really important to me. I was going through a difficult situation in life at the time so it was amazing to be surrounded by some of the best coworkers imaginable. Strong opportunities for growth: I started my journey here as a secretary 5 years ago and had grown into a role within the Human Resources department not too long after. I've had consistent opportunities for growth through yearly raises and promotions even within my current department and it's clear that this organization truly wants to see its employees succeed. Purpose-driven work: I truly love what this organization does for the community and feel proud to be part of the mission. Long-term career potential: This is the first place that made me feel like I found my forever workplace.

Cons

Like any job, there can be busy or stressful days - but the support from coworkers and leadership makes all the difference.
