Pros

Lower level employees are extremely fun and talented. The culture can be a blast.

Cons

Editorial is being so mismanaged you'd think the intention is to kill it. Directives are often unclear, inconsistent, and misguided. The goal isn't to be innovative, it's to chase whatever trend may lead to traffic in the short term, creating such an unwinnable environment that talent has been leaving in waves for the past year—the latest prompted by video being added to our plates without easing the burden for text. With another exodus upon us, and management's history of being slow to replace staffers (if they even bother this time), the stress is only going to increase. Complex is a really great farm team for employees to go flourish elsewhere.

Cons

No good or positive leadership Upper management unqualified, unsupportive and unhelpful No direction Terrible creative, no innovation with video or photo Incredibly scrappy Trying to focus on larger video executions yet the ideas and production is lackluster Pay employees nickels Unappreciative of staff Creativity and positive change is not fostered Core of the brand is being lost by buy out from Verizon/Hearst

- Great culture, company happy hours every week - Fun atmosphere at work

Cons

- Very low pay, and average benefits (way below industry standard) - Very few opportunities to advance in career. The same people were getting promotions multiple times. - High employee churn, no incentives to keep good employees, so constantly only entry-level people. - Turning very corporate, more layers of management. Makes it hard to get thoughts past the first layer.
