Diversity and Inclusion

Pros

The engineering and manufacturing space is a very male dominated industry. CATI has recognized this and has launched a Women's Employee Resource Group. We just had a keynote speaker who talked about her career path within a male dominated industry and it is refreshing that it is being acknowledged and change is happening within CATI. The topic is out in the open and all employees are encouraged to participate. There is a mentorship program as well as other great ways for women and their allies to connect.

Cons

No cons. CATI listened to its employees and acted.

Pros

Work with cutting edge technology in an open environment. Hands on sales engineering type engagements with small to large customers. Great opportunity to learn the ins and outs of 3D printing industry. Make connections and gain expertise for regional industry. A wonderful quick stepping stone for those who have an elevated mindset

Cons

A complacent culture of former C+ students-- most employees lack college experience or career prestige. There will be little to no mentorship. Layers of socially inept management all the way up to the C suite. Flat organization from a decision-making standpoint. They promote a very confusing flavor of "act as a business owner" culture, as it only applies to actions within the interest of profits. Leadership within the technical team (3D hardware) has a limited scope of how to promote continuous learning and career development. Lots to say about lack of diversity.

We have a Mentor Program for all new employees as another layer of support for employees at Computer Aided Technology. Regarding the diversity comment in this post, we are working on diversity and inclusion initiatives. In 2021 we launched the Women's Impact Network (WIN). WIN strives to create an inclusive environment that supports and encourages women to enhance their skills and succeed through networking, mentoring and education, as well as giving back to other women through community and peer engagement.

Pros

Everyone here enjoys helping people. The culture here is one that encourages inclusion and teaches employees leadership qualities and how to be supportive . The interview process was smooth, fun and engaging. They are professional and want to really get to know you throughout the interview and onboarding processes. Everyone here seems happy and excited to go to work.

Cons

The different office locations and working remotely from other coworkers and clients seems like it might be able to cause some difficulties in scheduling due to having to deal with and learn the different time zones. However, this doesn't seem to be too big of an issue as the constant communication through cell phones, emails, and other tech systems makes people feel closer.
