Supportive colleagues and great opportunities, but slow processes
Pros
The people at Computershare are often what makes it; a group of dedicated individuals who, in even the most challenging of circumstances, turn up and do a great job and create an atmosphere and environment that makes you want to come back. The company has a lot of great opportunities, both in terms of promotions and lateral moves if you want to try your hand at different departments or different types of work. There are a number of great benefits: a reasonably good private pension, an employee share scheme, the new bonus plan, death in service, private healthcare etc.
Cons
The company is often slow to move on things that simply should not be difficult to get moving on. Things like hiring, approving critical projects, promoting individuals who have outgrown their roles etc all take months longer than it should. There is an excessive level control at the exec level, even down to approving things like backfilling roles or managing budgets. There is a huge disconnect between the day to day operational realities and other departments such as our product offerings, front office or the executive team and that makes for unnecessary friction and a counterproductive approach to the work.
