Company doesn’t care

Pros

The people you work with

Cons

This company does not care one bit about the staff. They only care about numbers. When the country went into a state of emergency for COVID-19, Concentra cut our hours, furloughed employees, and cut our wages. Some people weren’t even working enough to be considered full time. We weren’t even allowed to use PTO to get up to 40 hours. They also won’t give us our annual raises this year. Now that things have picked up since businesses have started reopening, we aren’t allowed to hire more staff, but we are working three times as hard to keep up with sanitation, we are under staffed, and we are making less money. If that wasn’t enough, we are desperately low on PPE equipment like everyone else in the world but that doesn’t matter either. Thanks, Concentra.

Pros

There are none. Zero. Zip.

Cons

Worst corporate culture I've ever encountered. C Suite leadership is non-existent. Technology is old and can't be updated. It's hard to believe a company like this stays in business, much less turns a profit. Unless you have no other options, stay as far away as possible from this negative, soul killing, dung heap of a company. They espouse the "Orange Book" of values but this company has no values of merit.

Terrible place to survive

Pros

Good pay Minimal to no overhead No-show rate does not fall on the Therapist Free to treat however you want Do your own evals, create your own POC, take patients through exercises yourself Choose to do manual therapy or not

Cons

Extremely busy caseload. Avg patients seen is 18-22 patients a day with one tech whose also expected to have all the duties of a receptionist. They don’t hire PTAs. Verbally told to my face that I have to average 20 patients a day to even have that tech and 30 patients a day in order to have another full time therapist. There’s an in-house doctor at all locations (since they’re urgent cares) and you’re expected to juggle impromptu initial evals on top of your scheduled patients. Literally impossible parameters to work under. Internal emails have gone out literally telling you that they expect you to take impromptu evals on your unpaid lunch hour and during the last hour of your day. All they care about is revenue and money. The salary might sound nice, but calculate it for 9-10 hour days and then see how much you make per hour. Good therapists get burnt out and leave. They offer an “incentive bonus”, but it’s minimal.
