There is a heavy workload, and I think it stems from having such a large vision without the full team support for it. We have plenty of open roles right now that definitely need filling. It's recognized as a need, but there definitely is a lack of headcount for the work we are responsible for.
The office is closed right now, which is understandable, and I personally started within the last year while everyone was remote. I'm gathering that the office culture helped people understand all interactions a bit better, particularly related to social justice issues. That was a major shift that was placed in everyone's lives within the last year, so having the in-office dynamic come back to life will probably help diffuse some things that may not land the right way over an email or message.
