Pros

None- no pros exists for this work place, if you are working as a contractor. Tough place I ever worked.

Cons

This review is purely restricted to the team I have worked with. I would like to mention the other teams with in state farm IT that I have worked with are quite easy to work with. The team I worked with has unusual high expectations. They expect you to learn the skillset that became a recent requirement for the team . They expect your contracting company to train you the latest tech .. Btw they don't pay you overtime but it used to take roughly 60 hours to complete the tasks assigned on agile version 1 board. So you are expected to take comp time which is impossible with the given work load. And you will be asked extra question when asked for comp time. They mostly get contractors who are on OPT and are recent college grads. They expect you to find your customers just two weeks in to assignment . So you are a product owner and project manager at the same time working under direction of a non technical boss. All the best if you want to work overtime without any pay..and work on agile model without a product owner who can't assess the acceptance criteria .. This place is ideal for opt students with relatively less job experience and who can work overtime without getting paid just to keep their job. Full time employees will throw the work that met dead end at contractors . Good luck finding relative documents that will help you assess the environment . A simple KT for a week about enterprise architecture wouldn't be enough to understand the work flow of the customers. You are expected to work with employees who are two years in to retirement and judge you for everything. Everyone is your boss. Gossips ! Scrum masters maintain their time outside daily standup s on gossip and throw negative energy at contractors. Good luck understanding the requirements of your role from non technical managers here..they will throw you out of job anytime they want only to replace you with another contractor who never worked in such similar roles before..brilliant !!!!
