Pros

With my five year anniversary approaching, it seems only appropriate to share my appreciation for this company. Here of some of the Pros I’ve experienced while working at Connect Search: Those who work hard and stay motivated are sure to succeed here. The company culture is unbeatable. There are numerous events/outings throughout the year, as well as different committees you can get involved in if interested. The best part about the culture though, is that you can show up and be yourself with coworkers that turn into great friends. I’ve met some of the best people I know at this company. It’s an exciting and rewarding time to work here and witness the tremendous growth and success, knowing you played a role in contributing to that success. Your leadership/input/ideas are valued, and more often than not, acted upon. The Partners are well respected and lead by example. You can find them out on the floor, working with their teams, setting the tone. Professional growth is encouraged and supported if you work hard/prove yourself to be valuable. They promote from within. Solid benefits. PTO increases each year.

Cons

I honestly can’t think of any. And that’s saying something because I’ve been here a while now.

No micromanagement (almost to a fault)

-Three divisions, three separate companies -IT & AF & E might as well work in different buildings -Zero work life balance -**Inflated titles to “impress clients & candidates”** -Revolving door

I strongly encourage you to speak to someone internally about your concerns. I see that you are a current employee so please reach out to one of the Partners and/or someone in HR. We launched a mentorship program earlier this year to encourage cross-collaboration between the teams. We also have regular company outings and our "Fun" and Charity committees which include people from all different divisions and office locations. I would encourage you to consider joining one of those committees and being mentored to help you feel more connected.

Pros

you get commission starting day one and can work from home once a week. all other pros have really gone down hill.

Cons

A lot has changed since my last review on here. still a current employee, for now. Most people that have been with the company have left, and many are wanting to leave. Management is down to one person on our team. It's gone from quality over quantity to very much a Robert Half feel, which is what they were trying to get away from. When you try to talk to to management about issue they say to grow up/act like an adult, and honestly just don't care and "don't have time." It's sad, but they are trying to grow the company fast and open more locations to make the most with a potential PE by-out/selling of the firm down the line, according to one partner - that is when they plan to retire. There are psychotic people on the team who get away with some crazy stuff, one person because of the amount she bills. Management is power hungry on the recent growth (which happened because of what the firm used to be) and no longer is the firm it was when I joined. Compensation is only getting 3 stars now because they pay good fees but partners will hand themselves things and set themselves up to get bigger parts of deals/sides of clients, keeping themselves way ahead of everyone. They also do shady things and cut you out on parts of your deals and out it towards the "house" but when similar situations happen to them, they get the fee and not the house. It used to be that they cared about the success of their team, no longer does it feel that way. I would not recommend anyone to join this firm if it stays this way.

Unfortunately, this is an unpredictable job market. We realize that everyone is feeling the stress of this market as a result. I can assure you that we do care, we are trying every day to help you build your business by working together to represent quality job seekers to quality firms. The management that built this organization routinely introduces junior level staff to their long-term clients in an effort to help newer recruiters learn and develop their business. While we understand that every personality on each team may not always click, we do value each person and we can help you learn how to build successful internal relationships. I encourage you to seek out one of the Partners of the firm and HR to voice your concerns in a more constructive manner. As you are a current employee, we want to help you work thru this stressful time and build a long-term, sustainable career.
