Pros

The commitment to developing talent from within plus rapid growth of the business gives many people opportunities to grow their career quickly. Generally, I find that my peer group is professional and respectful in their dealings with one another, even when they disagree. My boss (one of the SVPs) treats his staff well, is supportive and gives us opportunities to learn new things and present to executives about our own work & projects. He makes time to meet with us even when he's very busy. I've made wonderful friends here, and I feel like our group does a great job of supporting one another on stressful days. I've learned a lot from my colleagues, who are a smart and accomplished bunch. While some of our clients can be unreasonable or extremely demanding, most of our clients are great to work with and I've really appreciated those collaborations. The concerted efforts to support Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in 2020-2021 have vastly improved some bad failed attempts at it from earlier years (kudos to our new DEI Director).

Cons

Headcount is kept artificially low considering our systems are antiquated, and processes are still mostly manual. It is hard to see your peers and the people you manage working long hours with no "light at the end of the tunnel." The staff growth has simply NOT kept up with the demands of clients or the speed at which the business is growing and people are getting burned out. Turnover has been high recently due to the stress. We are losing some really good, knowledgeable people, and the business and those of us left behind are suffering from that loss. I think the executive team has waiting a bit too long to start addressing some of the infrastructure / technology issues, but they're trying hard now. The delay is making it harder to be successful.
