Pros
Theoretically great potential as they’re small enough that one strong employee can really expand their business. Direct access to ownership.
Cons
Management plays favorites. Despite playing by the rules, if they decide they don’t like you (despite high performance), they will make life difficult so you leave instead of them taking an unemployment hit. Then they remind you of their crazy non compete. They once hired a guy who impersonated job seekers and got all of the company/hiring manager info from other staffing firms, then he’d call the company after the candidate didn’t show and offer services. Ownership seemed to encourage this, although most staff was reputable.
