Salary raises were few and far between.

Exelon Powerteam Merger

Pros

Pay well and decent job security. Co-workers are generally nice and pleasant to work with.

Cons

Merger has been a failure. New Exelon management makes political decisions rather than focusing on what is right or makes money. They bought a private equity shop and are destroying it and the culture that built it. Extremely political environment - the Constellation meritocracy has been dismantled and experienced, intelligent Constellation managers report to a good old boy network with half the IQ. Expect strong turnover next year.

Fortune 500 company- overall decent

Pros

Fortune 500, brand recognition, decent salary once you move up the ranks, nice downtown location, management is personable, tuition reimbursement (now it takes three years to forgive(1/3 a year), generous sick leave, average 401k match

Cons

Difficult to move up the ranks (when the company was smaller it was a lot easier), feel like a number, not a person, work environment is like a factory floor or sardine can, have to pay for parking, bureaucracy, no recognition for advanced degrees, organization is so large you never know who to go to, office gets so loud you can't hear yourself think.
