      Long hours but good experience to start your construction career

      Pros

      Good CM structure and values. I had good super's and PM's to work with so got to learn a lot. Performance appreciation is OK till you hit the mid senior level.

      Cons

      Upper management does not respect and respond well to needs of mid to senior level supers and PMs, from what I saw. I personally got what I wanted from the company, which was the most experience in the least amount of time. Work hours are crazy though.

Conti prefers to promote from within, and a large portion of our senior managers have been promoted from mid-level positions. As well, 24% of our employees have been with the company for more than ten years. Conti holds regular meetings with staff of all levels to promote open communication within the team and the CEO frequently visits the jobsites. We acknowledge our employees’ achievements and performance through various types of bonuses and impromptu celebrations. Finally, Conti offers flextime to their employees to help maintain a healthy work-life balance.

      Pros

      Diverse company; if you have a good manager you will grow. Must get a good mentor/manager in order to grow though. Don't get lost in the group.

      Cons

      NO WORK/LIFE BALANCE! It is preached but not practiced. You almost feel guilty for leaving after a 10 hour day.

      Pros

      Very few. They promise a-lot, then do not follow through. They give young people opportunity, but do not train them accordingly.

      Cons

      Expect to work 60-hours per week for 40-hour salary. Management encourages rating employees harshly so they get a larger share of the bonus pool, when there is one.
