Pros

The growth opportunities within Continental are endless. You have to be engaged, motivated, high performing, and up for the challenge. Growth and career is in your own hands. The key for success is that you take the initiative. The management support you'll receive is tremendous. The training opportunities are impressive. You are part of a strong global team with all the challenges and opportunities coming with it.

Cons

Some of the processes are too complex and slowing us down.

Pros

Right now, not many. Its a job in this environment.

Cons

When Continental first bought Motorola's Automotive unit, life was good. Once they bought Siemens VDO and put those buffoons in charge, things have gone downhill. Very deceptive and controlling. Once everyone leaves, they will be once again wondering why they don't have any North American business.

Pros

Good healthcare benefits, Good Vacation - 3 weeks of vacation first year, 11 paid holidays, Flex-time, on-site gym, very nice work facilities, professional people. Used to be a good company to work for, but things have changed with all the auto industry problems.

Cons

Continental AG (recently purchased by Schaffler) is a German company in the automotive supplier industry, and is strapped with a lot of debt. As an auto supplier business has been crushed. Cutbacks have been severe including: layoffs, 5% mandatory paycut for everyong, 401K match discontinued, forced week/two week shutdowns that have to be taken without pay unless you have enough saved PTO (most non-management don't). These shutdowns/unpaid time off for everyone can easily mean an additional 3%/4% annual paycut, depending on how much you make. The DeerPark branch is formerly Motorola Automotive, and much of management treats employees like Motorola does, which is: take anything management dishes out or risk being laid off.
