      There is a lot of bureaucracy and not much room for growth.

      Pros

      Cook is a privately owned company, and has a good profit sharing plan. The campus is really pretty and most of the people are friendly.

      Cons

      There is no room for creativity and questioning why things are done a certain is frowned upon. Management is supportive and HR doesn't keep things confidential. Everyone seems to gossip a lot.

      Pros

      Few layers of management and a rapid decision making company. Terrific non-management employees. Facilties are generally excellent and dedication to producing a quality product is high. Good job security.

      Cons

      Cronyism runs rampant throughout the organization and favoritsim abounds. Promotions and oppotunties depend less on performance and more on who you know. Pay is poor, benefits only average. Top-level leadership is out of touch.

      Pros

      You are your own boss, there doesn't tend to be a lot of micromanagement, decently laid back environment, 401K matching, nice people.

      Cons

      The health plan is not very good, the pay is slightly lower than what you would get elsewhere, not as many career opportunities than at other places
