Pros

1. You make a lot of friends here. 2. Good training program if you don't have a STEM degree. 3. Good starting job if you can't find a programming job. 4. Relaxing work environment because there is no manager in the office. 5. You get contracts from big companies. If you get an offer for the training and you can't get a job elsewhere, just come. It doesn't hurt because there is no hidden fee for the training. Free hotel yah! You can leave at any time you want without paying a penny

Cons

1. The training program is too easy for people who know about programming and too hard for people who have never done any kind of programming before. There are chefs, sales representatives. veterans, writers, etc., and 80% of fail because it's too hard for someone who doesn't know programming at all to learn how to code after 8 weeks of training. 2. The starting salary is about 30K. You get 15% raise every 6 months ONLY IF you're not on bench.

Pros

I’ve been with Cook Systems for the past 90 days, and I can honestly say it’s been a great experience. The company culture is incredibly collaborative and supportive. From day one, I’ve been trusted with hands-on work that’s helped me grow my skills in software development, a field I might not have broken into without their FastTrack training program. They give you the time for self-development which is a huge plus. The work environment is another standout. I work from home, and as long as my work is done, there’s no micromanaging about my online time. Work-life balance doesn’t get much better than that. My manager is super approachable, and our monthly check-ins make me feel valued and supported. They also have a childcare savings plan which lets me pay for my daughter’s preschool tax-free.

Cons

If I had to pick something, I’d say the benefits package could use a boost. It’s not the strongest compared to other companies (we rely on my wife’s work for most benefits), and the pay could be more competitive. That said, I totally get it, they invest a lot in training people like me, and I’m grateful for that opportunity for my first job as a developer. And hopefully it will improve as I build time in the company.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review. It’s great to hear FastTrack helped you get your start as a developer and that your first few months have been a positive experience. We put a lot of effort into creating an environment where people can keep learning, ask questions, and grow in their careers, so it’s nice to hear that’s been your experience. We also appreciate your comments about pay and benefits. That’s something we review regularly, and while we’re proud of the range of benefits we offer, we know everyone’s situation is different and there’s always room to improve. If you ever have ideas or specific feedback, we’d genuinely like to hear it at peopleops@cooksys.com. Thanks again for the thoughtful review, and we’re glad you’re part of the Cook Systems team.

Pros

Great company culture with supportive colleagues and management. The FastTrack program offers excellent opportunities for professional growth, hands-on experience, and comprehensive training. The benefits package is competitive, and the work environment is collaborative and engaging. I felt well-prepared for my current role thanks to the experience and support I received at Cook Systems.

Cons

Occasional high workload during project deadlines can be challenging, but it provided valuable experience in managing time and priorities effectively. The company is continuously improving communication about updates, which is appreciated. The pay is relatively low compared to industry standards, but the experience and training opportunities help compensate for this."

Thank you for such a thoughtful review and for sharing your experience. We’re especially glad to hear that FastTrack and the support you received helped prepare you for your career. That’s exactly what we hope the program accomplishes, and it’s rewarding to know it made a difference for you. We also appreciate the constructive feedback. Good communication is something we continue to work on, and your comments about transparency and keeping employees informed are well taken. We also recognize that compensation is an important part of retaining great people, and it’s something we continue to evaluate as the company grows. Thank you again for your time at Cook Systems. We appreciate your feedback and wish you continued success in your career.

Pros

The training program is generous and thorough. You work as an employee of Cook Systems, not as a contractor, so you get benefits and a salary, even between jobs.

Cons

Management is spread too thin to hear/address employee concerns effectively. Crowded work environment. Unclear corporate organization means employees have to treat everyone they meet as a superior, which is exhausting. The management doesn't pay enough attention to their employees to know when clients blame their poor organization & communication on Cook employees.

We will take your view into consideration. There are very few customer commands that can be "shrugged off" though. We will make every attempt to pay close attention and protect our employees from unreasonable situations.
