Pros

Cons

I was the first woman tech to be hired at this particular office and let me tell you, the interview questions were downright ILLEGAL. During my interviews (of which I had to have 5 of because it seemed to blow all their minds that a woman would want to be a tech) I was asked: -My plans for family/future children -What methods of birth control I was on to prevent pregnancy -If I still "had my ovaries" I was finally hired on after all those hoops and one of the first things I was told when I got there was that the DM hadn't wanted to hire me because of my gender but I should be thankful that the supervisors vouched for me and that hopefully me being there would make the guys work harder so as "not to be outdone by a female." (One of the managers also had an absolute meltdown when I asked where I could put my purse during the day because "we've never had to deal with a purse before!") It was honestly humiliating and often times the other techs just referred to me as "the woman" rather than bothering to try and learn my name. I watched and listened to the other guys closely and realized that a lot of them were miserable and that it honestly is a glorified collections agent who also happens to drive out and spray pesticides on people's homes. I felt looked down upon and the DM is a pot stirrer, he's constantly slinking about and sticking his nose into things and blowing them out of proportion. (I asked one of the supervisors a silly question that popped into my head and it ended with a huge meeting in his office about my dumb question.) One of the handful of supervisors was a cool, down to earth guy whom I actually enjoyed riding out on stops with because he spoke and acted like a human being, the other that I had to ride with a lot more often was like a cold and quiet robot in human skin. Once when I was riding with him I'd been going nonstop since 7:30am, done a big bedbug job and then was running stops with the nice supervisor before he had to go. It was 3pm at this point and I was exhausted and had not had a break or a lunch when robot decided that would be a good time for me to start doing the stops all by myself in the 98 degree heat while he sat in the cool truck and timed my performance at these huge McMansions. When I finally begged to take my lunch he made me feel extremely guilty for asking so I only took 15 minutes to shove a sandwich in my face and get back to it. I didn't work here long but I agree with a lot of the other comments here. Childish, Shady, Waaaaay to over the top with the religion thing but then do a terrible job of representing said religion. Would not recommend, do not work here if you are female.
