Pros

Good Pay. Decent Benefits. Many good people working at the facilities.

Cons

Toxic work environment, especially with chronic staffing shortages - which they only grudgingly even acknowledge. Corporate lies to the press about handling a known/published problem. ADO staff (Chiefs on up) are not held to the same ethical standard the regular staff are - instead of being terminated or denied a transfer/promotion like line staff are, they are just transferred to another facility to do the same job (or even promoted). Wardens who speak up for their staff and their treatment by corporate are let go - despite being brought in to correct problems (which they were doing). Terminate veteran staff on FMLA when it is inconvenient to keep them around - even when on FMLA for only a short time due a pandemic-related illness, but won't terminate any staff for constantly failing to show up for work. Terminate veteran department heads when corporate decides they want to change their job and they no longer are "qualified" to do the job they've been doing for a decade or more, then never post the "new" position and back-fill the old department head's job with less-qualified staff. Ethics complaints are pointless as they always seem to find that what they did was perfectly "ethical". It didn't used to be this way, at one time they had facility & corporate staff that actually seemed to care while still managing to make the company money. Now it just seems to be about the company making money and the corporate management keeping their bonuses.
