Pros

It pays well if you're willing to work. People are willing to help and the job is easy except for the occasional incidents.

Cons

However, it's highly stressful and the burnout rate is high. Too long hours. And working too much overtime can get old.

Pros

The pay is good. The inmates are grateful. You can send the inmates out to the local ER in emergencies. Most of the officers are nice.

Cons

You are limited in what you can do for your patients. This is a private prison company. They keep the costs down by limiting the care given. It is a business of housing prisoners, not a business of providing quality health care. Not a good job if it makes you nervous to be around inmates and behind bars on your shift.

Thank you for your feedback. CoreCivic adheres to and is accredited by the American Corrections Association for our correctional and medical services at all of our facilities. Quality healthcare is provided by the Health Services staff who work to take care of the patients they serve. Inmates are patients who need care provided to them in their environment.

Lots of hours and shifts, good pay

Cons

They make you work lots of hours. You have no choice or life. They can't keep employees because they treat them like they are pieces of furniture. Management only cares about themselves. Their core values spiel is all BS and lies. Corporate only cares about making money. Inmates have the most power. Staff is last on the totem poll. Management is #1. They are backstabbers.
