The only problem with CorePower Yoga is that instructors are very much underpaid. Teachers in premium markets are receiving $15/hour, with one hour for class and a half hour on each end of the class to check-in students, sell merchandise, and sign up new members. Any time spend staying past those two hours (helping out at the desk, handling a rush of check-ins, etc.) is not counted for compensation. The teachers and staff are conscientious, well-intentioned individuals who truly love to share yoga with their students, so it is unfortunate that they are not reasonably compensated for their time and energy.

I have worked for Corepower for 2 years and it has gone from a good place to work to a terrible place to work. Any ethical person who has had worked for other fitness places would be appalled at the way this place treats employees and customers. Corepower is all about making money. When I was first hired a few years ago it was a nice environment, but watching it grow over the years it has become a bad place to work. I am happy to include that I resigned in January this year. These are the Facts and Cons of what makes it a bad place to work: - Employees VERY UNDERPAID. Corepower starts their employees off at $20 class rate. Employees required to work 30 minutes (Free) before and after class on greeting customers, data entry, selling merchandise, signing people up for memberships, and the list goes on. Overall it amounts to only $10 an hour. Way underpaid compared to other yoga studios! - NO TRAINING at the front desk/Cash Register. Instead they tell you to "Use your best customer service" and there are many who do not know how to give good customer service without proper training. - DEMANDING ENVIRONMENT: All Core Power teachers are expected to have a script memorized to the "T" in leading their classes. Only permitted to use 3 verbal cues per posture. At the end of class the teachers are REQUIRED to annouce upcoming teacher trainings and to be persistent in getting others to do Teacher Training requiring employees to say "You might be able to work here". - Too Many Instructors and Not enough Spots on the Schedule for Everyone! - Management especially is unprofessional and unethical. The way Corepower is run is unprofessional. The management is in click with their favorite employees and often go out to dinner with employees as best friends. This is not a professional thing to do, and more classes go to those who "Hang out" with managers after work. This is the only corporation that I have ever been apart of that permits this behavior and encourages it.
