Pros

Leading academic institution -our students, faculty and alumni are the best there is. Very good benefits Very rewarding to work at a place that is literally changing the world for the better

Cons

Higher education = a lot of bureaucracy and red tape Not as innovative or entrepreneurial as you would think Very slow to make change Pay is very good in Ithaca but well below market in other cities (NY, CA, DC, etc) Not enough "new blood" in leadership. Most people have been here their whole careers
