Pros

Pay is above average for the immediate area. If you are faculty or director level you will be treated well.

Cons

Poor management, company structure is decentralized. Many resources wasted. Lots of redundancy. Every college has its own HR, IT, and Finance departments. Tall walls exist between each college. Unable to maintain a cybersecurity insurance policy. Unable to leverage volume discounts for many commonly used software packages. Unable to retain talent once they move here. Just like the students, people come here to leave.

Pros

Mostly good work-life balance in an inclusive atmosphere. Salaries, as in all higher ed, are not super high but the benefits are solid.

Cons

Hard to advance naturally; one has to aggressively seek advancement.
