Pros

If you like to try/learn new technologies and discuss technology with others, Cornell has a lot to offer. It's pretty variable across department though - I found the individual colleges to be more receptive and better to work for than central units.

Cons

Cornell wants to do everything, and believes it can execute every single thing well. It is hubris, and it's getting them more trouble financially these days. It is amazing how many projects die with a whimper.
