Pros

Great facilities, beautiful campus, rigorous education, incredible opportunities to grow and gain skills not just in academia but in life, vast options for study, diversity of perspectives and people, etc.

Cons

Isolation, unfriendly people, disjointed communities, jealousy, people turning on each other because there's so little opportunity to have a healthy, warm community (probably because of the extremes isolation, cold, and general cultural myopism that happens in such a place), competitiveness that is not productive but that stems from fear and desperation

Pros

The stipend is generous, especially considering the relatively low cost of living in Ithaca.

Cons

The winters are cold, and there aren’t many entertainment options in Ithaca. Additionally, the academic environment is in general intense, with most students being very hardworking.
