Pros

- Good health insurance - Some lovely people work there, if you can find them! - Some units are oases - again, if you can find them

Cons

- Information silos and lack of clear processes make training difficult - financial processing is a chaotic nightmare - Upper-level administration makes the craven choice in times of uncertainty - in 2025 my college has chosen to cut low-level staff while actively recruiting new faculty - Neurodivergent faculty are accommodated; neurodivergent staff... good luck. Again, varies depending on your college and department. - An increasing number of job openings mention a "fast paced environment," which is generally code for "we are understaffed"
