Pros

Benefits are decent at best. For this large of a company and the money they make it could be better.

Cons

Office politics are very real here. PlyGem and NCI were merged by investors. They were merged to save a sinking ship they continue run in the ground. This is a publicly traded company. Research this and you will find the answers. There are managers in their roles that shouldn't be. Some of the management I wouldn't even want answering the phones, yet they are placed over people to manage them. One manager would run around the office yelling and talking in a baby voice. I wondered if I had been employed to work in a daycare. This manager celebrated their birthday all month with very childish activities. This was a joke. Yet some if the executives took part in this. How are you going to expect your employees to take you serious when you play silly games. Another manager didn't even know how to do their job. When asked to correct something I often was asked how they needed to do it, I would spend an hour explaining to them how THEY needed to do THEIR job and fix the issue, yet they were appointed as management. Tenior should not be the deciding factor on one becoming a manager. The part of the company I worked for had built real working relationships with their customers. Yet when corporate started taking over those relationships were tested. People are overlooked all the time. It seems to be a popularity contest that I refused to take part in. I was their to do a job and do it to the best of my ability, not play high school games. If you have made it this far in reading this, my advice would be to stay off of a burning bridge. NCI was on the brink of filing bankruptcy, they purchased some companies to save themselves. Now PlyGem has been merged with NCI. Again investors looking to save their investments. What they need to do is get in and clean up what they have running the company. Look at your managers and see if that is the start of your problems. Look beneath them and find your real talent and you maybe able to save your investments.
