There is a gap between the engineering team and leadership, as crucial decisions are made without input. This makes many of the team members feel in the dark and unsure of how their work fits into the bigger picture of the company's overall objectives. The emphasis on short-term quarterly earnings has become the priority over long-term strategic investment, resulting in regular layoffs. Furthermore, research and development work has been given a lower priority in favour of only finishing JIRA tickets.
