Pros

Excellent professional and loyal co-workers.

Cons

Little if any professional development. Eroding benefits due to cost-cutting by County supervisors and the majority of employees have been without a union contract for almost 2 years and counting. Health benefit costs going up 15-20% annually. Riverside County brings in new supervisors from other agencies who have no background or experience in supervising staff in their new position, but are bureaucrats who know how to manipulate the County system. This process protects bad bosses, who are prevalent nowadays in the County of Riverside and rule with impunity, empowered by Human Resources. This County is in crisis mode with incompetent leadership with extreme political agendas.

Pros

Work hours are flexible. Pension benefits.

Cons

As most of the reviews have mentioned, this is a "who do you know" not "what you know" work environment. There is a lot of dead weight in the work force that supervisors and managers do not want to take the time to address. That leaves all the work going to just a few hardworking employees in most teams. The others know they will receive the same pay as the hardworking ones and no one will bother them. It is shameful considering all employees are "public servants". That concept is not understood by even the high level management. The citizens of Riverside County should ask for more grand jury investigations in all areas of the County considering it is their money being spent. Experienced, knowledgeable and hard working employees are passed up for advancement because they are not friends or not the same religion as the hiring Manager. I've seen it all so nothing surprises me anymore.
