Pros

Excellent reporters. The benefits are OK.

Cons

I don’t feel as though this work environment was particularly inclusive, or diverse in staff, thought, or approach.

Pros

Really close knit relationships with across of the AMP group. Dedicated staff used to working to get things done regardless of deadline! Truly understands the publication and marketing business. And, did i mention you basically work in a highly secured office that has eastern market literally at is back door. If you walk out the front of the beautiful campus your a quick 3 block walk from Greektown! Also, the Crain team truly knows that entire area so they are always going out to both Old and New Detroit hotspots for lunches and after work functions.

Cons

Well, its publication house so its dealing the market forces that that industry is dealing with...

Pros

Good people to work with, takes journalism seriously and values editorial, pays well comparatively, the company seems to like promoting from within.

Cons

All the publications are managed independently so it can be tough to move around, which means promotion opportunities can be limited if people don't leave your own publication very frequently. Like many other publishing firms, it is still trying to come to grips with the new economics of the business.
