The salary was fair but not worth it. They give you a choice of a Macbook or PC and provide a second monitor, which was nice.

Cons

The culture was terrible and rigid. There are way too many managers to report to so there's a weird reporting structure. Inexperienced management. Experienced odd stoicism from interactions with upper leadership. I would look elsewhere first.

Pros

The passion to create great journalism is the overriding goal here. Everyone I've met in management has been so kind and helpful. Many people have worked here for many years and I find that appealing.

Cons

The organization is really geared towards full-time staffers (which is a great thing) versus freelancers. However, payment for freelancers takes weeks and some of these writers need faster payment for their work.
